Mark McDonald MSP was today welcomed by Aberdeen District Scouts as they launched their 2015 Grampian Nights Camp. Mark joined over 200 young people and adult volunteers for the day at the week long activity event which is being  held at the Templar's Park Scout Campsite in Maryculter. 

The week will see the Scout section (10-14 years old) and the Explorer Scout section (14-18 years old) take part in a wide range of activities including climbing, archery, watersports, crafts, media, and even a visit to Stonehaven. The Templar's Park Scout Campsite, which is owned and operated by Aberdeen District Scouts, and run entirely by volunteers, is celebrating its 79th year since it was opened by Baden-Poweel in 1936. 

Aberdeen Angels are organising a major event to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland and the Friends of Anchor.

On July 17, Mark McDonald, the SNP MSP for Aberdeen Donside, met up with Andrea Muirhead(pictured), who is working hard to make the night a success. 

Andrea and co-organiser Marie Milne are both Mark's constituents.  He said: "It all sounds like a great night in aid of worthy causes. Please consider going to this event, and encourage others to do so." 

Mark McDonald MSP joined the Minister for Sport, Health Improvement & Mental Health, Jamie Hepburn MSP, as he visited a number of projects round Aberdeen. 

After initiating the visit by the visit by inviting the Minister to come and hear about the work of the Healthy Hoose during a debate in parliament, Mark McDonald, Jamie Hepburn and Kevin Stewart visited NovaBiotics, Robert Gordon University and the Healthy Hoose.
