The Primary 5 class were excited to tell Mark all about their roll in writing their very own books for the Primary 2 children in the school. The books are detailed, descriptive, exciting and colourful. The children even used onomatopoeia and made the key words on each page stand out with big writing. There were some Scots words added too!
"It was an absolute priveledge to visit the P5's at Woodside School this afternoon. The children have recently undertaken a project to create a series of storybooks for the P2 children at the school, and I had the pleasure of hearing two of the stories being read to me byt he children - 'The Mysterious Time Travellers' and 'Dave and The Golden Cat'.
"The children loved the experience of writing their own books, and there is clearly a huge appetite to take forward this creativity into the future. Who knows, maybe the children's authors of the future were among them!
"I have taken away an order form with a view to purchasing some of these books for my own children, and am so pleased to see this creative approach to literacy in our schools.
"Thank you to the boys and girls at Woodside for sharing their stories with me!"
