Mark McDonald MSP today had the privilege of visiting Northfield Academy - one of the four secondary schools situated in his Aberdeen Donside constituency.
As well as joining some new first year pupils over lunch, Mark met with the Police Scotland Young Volunteers before visiting the senior pupils common room to hear their views about what they would like to see in their local community.
Commenting on the visit, Mark said,
"I visited Northfield Academy today, the first school visit of the new term, and spent some time speaking to pupils about their views and what they would like to see done to improve and enhance their community.
"I also got the opportunity to meet with the Police Scotland Young Volunteers, who recently took part in the UK PSYV championships and finished a fantastic second place! They were also the top ranked Scottish PSYV group, and so they took home the Scottish Championship. The games involved various activities, including both physical and mental challenges and to perform so well the youngsters had to work well together as a team.
"I hope to be able to visit the group during one of their regular sessions, and to learn a bit more about the excellent work they are doing."
