Mark McDonald will be holding his first ever school-based surgery at Northfield Academy this Friday as part of his commitment to engage as many people in his constituency as possible on the issues that affect them.
Mr McDonald already holds regular surgeries in his constituency office, community centres and sheltered housing complexes to allow as many Donside residents as possible to meet their MSP.
By holding a surgery in Northfield Academy during the school day, Mr McDonald hopes to be able to engage directly with young people on the issues that affect them.
“The overwhelming involvement of young people in the referendum was inspiring and it was great to see so many make their voices heard. While many of the pupils at Northfield will not be old enough to vote, they are still my constituents and I want to know what their aspirations and ideas are for making their community a better place, and how I can help them deliver that.
“I am keen to keep engaging with young people and have regular surgeries in all the secondary schools within my constituency with Northfield being the first this Friday.”
