In the latest report on the school, based in Mastrick, there is frequent mention of how well teachers are working together to improve the school curriculum and day to day lives of the pupils who attend there.
As well as improved teaching, Muirfield has also been recognised for improving professional learning opportunities for teachers and support staff.
Mark McDonald MSP said: “It is clear from this report that the Head Teacher, two depute heads, and entire teaching staff at Muirfield have been working incredibly hard and have a lot to be proud of. From my reading it seems the school has gone above and beyond the basic improvements they were asked to make and are really making an effort to surpass themselves.
“In particular I am glad to see the school is welcoming further links to the Scottish Attainment Challenge with the Scottish Government which shows the determination they have to achieve equality in education and give young people in Mastrick the best start.
“Muirfield should be very proud of themselves as this is a great example of how the hard work of our teachers and head teachers can mean the difference between a school crumbling after a bad report or stepping up and making things better than ever. I think a huge congratulations is owed to the teaching staff, and to the pupils who have been so responsive to their hard work.”
