"I went along to Stoneywood School this afternoon to see the exciting plans for the new school.
"Back when I was the councillor I joined with parents and the local community in arguing for the school to be kept open, with an acknowledgement that the roll would increase and that a new school would eventually be required.
"While it is heartening to have been proven correct in this assessment, it is also great to see the pupils and teachers will soon be benefiting from a first class facility, fit for the delivery of the curriculum and a learning environment that all can enjoy."
