Aberdeen Donside MSP, Mark McDonald today had the pleasure of meeting Hannah Clews, an active member of the RGU Streetsport programme.
Streetsport is a non-profit ‘prevention, intervention and diversionary tactics initiative’ based at RGU SPORT Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen that actively reduces instances of youth crime and anti-social behaviour. The programme was established in 2006, provides free weekly sports & creative activity sessions for young people throughout Aberdeen City by deploying mobile activity arenas into local communities.
Commenting on the visit Mark said:
"This afternoon I had a visit from Hannah & Mark of RGU Streetsport, who deliver a range of sporting activities in communities across the city. Helping to engage young people in positive activity and divert them from anti-social behaviour.
"We spoke about the #youthworkchangeslives campaign being run by Youthlink Scotland, and the important role that youth workers can play in supporting the work that they do.
"I hope to make it along to one of their sessions in my constituency in the very near future, and am very supportive of the positive work they are doing."
