The week will see the Scout section (10-14 years old) and the Explorer Scout section (14-18 years old) take part in a wide range of activities including climbing, archery, watersports, crafts, media, and even a visit to Stonehaven. The Templar's Park Scout Campsite, which is owned and operated by Aberdeen District Scouts, and run entirely by volunteers, is celebrating its 79th year since it was opened by Baden-Poweel in 1936.
"I then had a good conversation with Iain Meldrum and Mike Winn and other volunteers regarding the strength of the scouting movement in the city and that they are always looking for volunteers to get involved and help ensure that young people can continue to participate and benefit from the work of the scouting movement.
"It was also great to meet up with Moira Milligan, whose dedication to the scouting movement in Dyce is legendary! I hope the rest of the week is exceptionally enjoyable for the youngsters involved."
