SNP Donside member, Mark McDonald, has announced that he and a representative from the rail organisation will meet on March 31 to discuss the complaint.
He has taken this action after being contacted by constituents, who have been disturbed by the noise being produced from the work being implemented.
The remedial work is part of a major series of improvements to the existing service.
Mr McDonald told STV, "I have received a number of complaints from constituents who have been affected by the noise and received no notification of the works taking place.
"Earlier this week, I wrote to Network Rail about this issue as I did not think enough consideration was given to the noise of these works, and as a result I believe that the level of notification was inadequate.
Mark added, "Whilst I recognise that a single track like reduces the opportunity for such works to take place in the daytime, I had hoped that more effort would have been taken to ensure that residents were aware and that every effort would be made to avoid noise from the works travelling to such extent.
"I look forward to meeting with Network Rail to raise these concerns and to learn more about the investment in Aberdeen to Inverness railway line."
