In his letter to the Convener of the Rural Economy and Connectivity Committee, Mark requested that the contractors be called in front of the committee to address the issues and provide public answers to the people of the North East, as a matter of transparency.
“The Cabinet Secretary’s statement indicated that the contractor has been responsible for elements of delay to the contract, but getting answers from the contractor is proving increasingly difficult.
“It is important that the public have answers as to why the delays that have taken place have occurred, what is being done to address these, and whether the contract variation that would allow Craibstone to Stonehaven to open early will take place.
“I have written to the convenor of the Rural Economy & Connectivity committee asking that he bring the contractors in front of the committee to answer questions. I think this would be the best way to ensure that there is as much transparency and openness as possible regarding this situation.”
