The Aberdeen Donside MSP is due to meet with FirstGroup's managing director of bus services during the SNP annual party conference this week.
Mr McDonald said: “The past couple of weeks have been incredibly frustrating for constituents of mine in the Kingswells area who first had to deal with hearing First Bus will be cancelling services in there community regardless of consultancy outcomes, and then were met with inaccurate information which appears to contradict that.
“There are many people reliant on these services to get into the city for work or hospital appointments, amongst other commitments. It really is not helpful for anyone to distribute inaccurate information or updates on the situation, and I would urge all local representatives involved in this matter to be careful about how they gather and interpret information.
“It is vital if this campaign is to be a success that the community received consistent messages from all parties concerned, and that those representatives backing the community in their efforts remember that our efforts should seek to support the local campaigners rather than confuse the issue.
“I am due to meet with the managing director of the bus division within First Group on Friday and will be seeking clear and accurate answers from him as to exactly what the company is planning to do in the Kingswells area, as well as holding him to account for the manner in which this whole affair has been handled.”
