Mark attended a round-table event hosted by Kate Forbes MSP regarding connectivity to Heathrow Airport and its importance to Scotland's economic future.
At this event, Mark had the opportunity to hear from John Holland-Kaye, Chief Executive Officer at Heathrow Airport, who spoke about the importance and value of connectivity through Heathrow Airport to Scotland's economy and as a connection for passengers flying to and from Scotland.
As an estimated 77,000 domestic trips and 72,000 international trips from Aberdeen go through Heathrow each year, it is clear that Heathrow Airport is an important link for both North East passengers and its economy.
At the event, Mark raised a point of diversifying Aberdeen as a destination in light of recent reports of the city's low hotel occupancy rates and Mark plans on contacting VisitScotland in the near future to discuss this further
