The annual event, which aims to acknowledge and celebrate the strides people have made in their recovery from alcohol or drugs in Aberdeen was a huge success with dozens of people picking up awards for various personal achievements.
Categories included, Training, Education & Employment Awards, Supporting Others & Achieving Personal Milestones Award, Supporting Others & Achieving Personal Milestones Award.
"I was honoured to be asked by local organisation DA (Drugs Action) to present awards to service users today as part of their Recovery Star Awards which celebrate the recovery journey of many individuals.
"The keynote address was delivered by former Aberdeen captain Russell Anderson, and the vote of thanks was delivered by the Lord Provost, George Adam.
"It was a very humbling experience to see people talk about having rediscovered a lust for life and how much the work of DA has meant to them.
"Well done to all the award winners and congratulations on your recovery journey."

Motion Text: That the Parliament congratulates all winners at the Drugs Action 2015 Recovery Star Awards, which celebrates the positive personal achievements of people who have struggled with substance dependency in Aberdeen; considers that Drugs Action Scotland and its partners do invaluable work in supporting people in their recovery journey by providing a range of services for people who use drugs and alcohol, and their families and friends, and wishes the organisation every success in the future as it continues to support individuals on the road to recovery.
