Mark McDonald is donning his running shoes in aid of Me Too! Magazine, the dedicated Aberdeen & Shire quarterly magazine for families of children with Additional Support Needs (ASN).
The Aberdeen Donside MSP is preparing for the Simplyhealth Great Aberdeen Run, which takes place on the 27th August and will see thousands of participants map a route through some of the most iconic views of the city.
Commenting, Mark said:
“Me Too! Magazine is an invaluable resource to local parents of children with Additional Support Needs. Run by parents of ASN children, the magazine offers a one stop shop for Aberdeen City & Shire based families and is a trove of information, advice, events and services.
“I am incredibly proud to be running for Me Too! and I hope that by donning my running shoes and racing through Aberdeen in front of thousands of people wearing some Me Too! branding I can also raise awareness of the service as well as some vital funds. Access to useful and relevant information for many parents can make a huge difference to the quality of life for not just the child, but for the whole family.”
Phionna McInnes, chief executive of Me Too! Magazine commented:
"We are delighted to have Mark support Me Too! and raise not only some vital funds, but the profile of Me Too! so we can reach out to as many parents and carers as possible in Aberdeen City and Shire"
The MSP has previously run in aid of local charities including earlier this year where he took part in the Baker Hughes 10k for SensationALL raising more than £1,000.
