The connectivity issue has primarily arisen because significant areas of Kingswells use Telecommunications Passive Optical Network (TPON) technology which is incompatible with the modern Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) technology used to deliver superfast broadband to the vast majority of households across Scotland.
Commenting, Mr McDonald said:
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to meet with BT and raise my constituent’s concerns about the availability of superfast broadband in Kingswells.
“This is an issue that I have been campaigning on for some time since it was first raised with me when I was elected, over the last two years this has included a residents survey and a public meeting in Kingswells with Digital Scotland.
“I hope that the meeting will be a productive one and allow me to take matters forward as well as being able get answers to questions that many of my constituents have asked.”
