The pupils were excited to tell Mark all about their time learning British Sign Language (BSL) and were eager to show him what they had been taught. Mark even had the opportunity to learn how to count in sign language!
"It was great to visit Stoneywood Primary School and see some of their BSL learning across the school. I got to visit every class and spent some time learning how to count in sign language with Primary 4, who were using pupil-led learning. I also had the opportunity to watch Primary 6 using BSL to ask and answer questions about a game they had created by themselves.
"I witnessed an outstanding example of high quality learning in our city. I would like to thank Mrs Ross, as well as the staff and pupils of Stoneywood Primary for allowing me to join them today and see how they are using BSL as part of their one and two languages approach, alongside French which I also got a chance to see."
