The manifesto is part of the Scottish mental health charity's 10-year 'ask once, get help fast' model to encourage politicians to provide support for people with mental illness the first time they ask for help. The document details experiences and advice gathered from 700 people with experience of mental health issues from across the country.
"As convener of the Cross Party Group on Mental Health in the Scottish Parliament, I attended a reception hosted by SAMH, one of the leading mental health charities in Scotland, and signed their pledge to stand for mental health in the next parliament.
"The mental health budget is being increased by 70%, demonstrating a commitment to support people who are affected by mental health problems.
"This is an area of personal importance to me, and I will continue to work with local and national organisations to drive improvements for people."
